For his directorial swan song, Alex Cox (Repo Man,Straight To Hell) stars in this frontier fable of American greed, playing the mysterious drifter Strindler as he scours the West for the names of dead Mexican laborers. In this loose adaptation of Nikolai Gogols 1842 novelDead Souls, Strindler or is it Swindler? raises eyebrows when he offers to pay a pretty penny to add to his list of names. Wandering affably from saloon to ranch, Strindler exercises the old adage that money talks but sometimes too loudly. Pistol duels and crooked officials abound, and Spaghetti Western legend Gianni Garko (If You Meet Sartana Pray For Your Death) claims a co-writer credit. But Coxs idiosyncrasy stands out as the film veers tonally through the picaresque, dark satire and other unexpected twists.Dead Soulsis a meditative Western that takes place at the borderlands of the American nightmare: where fortunes rest on a dirty deal, and legacies are built on blood and gold.Product Extras:Audio Commentary by Director Alex CoxBehind-the-Scenes: VFX Creation at Tippett StudioDocumentary FeaturetteTheatrical TrailerPlease note that IF THS TITLE COMES WITH A SLIPCOVER it is the first pressing only and that first press can end at anytime without notice. We are not guaranteeing slipcovers on this title and those with slips may have minor dents and dings which are normal and not returnableFurther, please make sure your preorder ships ASAP if you would like a slip, do not tie it up with items shipping in the futureTHIS IS A PREORDER DISC THAT IS DUE TO BE RELEASED ON OR ABOUT 10/20/26ALL ITEMS ORDERED TOGETHER WILL BE CHARGED AT THE TIME OF THE ORDERAND SHIP TOGETHER WHEN EVERYTHING IS IN STOCK.
