Independently produced in 1948 under the aegis of the U.S. Navy Club,WILLITHAPPEN AGAIN?(The Love Life of Adolph Hitler) is a carefully calculated and beautifully executed takedown of the Third Reich. Footage from Nazi propaganda films (including Leni RiefenstahlsTriumph of theWill) is counteracted with images from Nuremberg trials and the liberated death camps, puncturing the myth of the Aryan Herrenmensch, revealiing the NSDAP leadership to have been little more than the typical autocrats, drunk on power, frolicking in banal luxury, and enjoying their brief moment of invincibility. Notorious exploitation producer Dwain Esper (Narcotic,Maniac) acquired the film in 1972 and reshaped the judicious anti-fascist treatise into a frothing attack on all 20th-century despots, including Joseph Stalin. In addition to more bombastic narration,CONFORM OR DIE(akaHitlers Strange Love Life) is ladled with unhealthy amounts of shocking footage (e.g. the mutilated corpse of Benito Mussolini) to hammer home its anti-authoritarian message. Viewer discretion is most definitely advised. This Kino Classics edition was mastered in 2K and 4K from the original 35mm negatives and several 35mm prints, compiling the most complete versions of these controversial but undeniably powerful anti-Nazi propaganda films.Product Extras:Audio Commentary by Film Historian Anthony SlideAlternate Stalin EndingConform or Die(1973, akaHitlers Strange Love Life) a More Graphically Explicit Version Re-edited by Exploitation Filmmaker Dwain EsperPlease note that IF THS TITLE COMES WITH A SLIPCOVER it is the first pressing only and that first press can end at anytime without notice. We are not guaranteeing slipcovers on this title and those with slips may have minor dents and dings which are normal and not returnableFurther, please make sure your preorder ships ASAP if you would like a slip, do not tie it up with items shipping in the future
